We have respected and highly sought-after dispute resolution and family and divorce practices that are seeking a professional, organised and empathetic Legal Executive to support our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with experienced lawyers on a range of litigious and family-related matters, providing meaningful support to the team and to clients.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide administrative and case management support, assisting with a varied caseload.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting fee earners with the day-to-day management of matters.
- Drafting routine correspondence, court forms and legal documents.
- Preparing bundles and supporting documentation for court hearings and conferences.
- Liaising with clients, the court service, expert witnesses and other professional advisers or third parties.
- Managing diaries, appointments, court dates and key deadlines, and assisting the team to meet the same.
- Opening and maintaining client files and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Assisting with disclosure exercises and the organisation of evidential documents.
- Supporting lawyers with legal and factual research as required.
- Assisting with billing, file administration, compliance procedures and other practice support functions.
- Providing a professional and efficient point of contact for clients.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in a legal support, legal executive or administrative role, preferably a Chartered Legal Executive registered as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
- Experience within family law or litigation would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, and an ability to proactively advance matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
- The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
